LeBron's triple double lifts Cavs to 95-93 win over Warriors
The Cleveland Cavaliers take home-court advantage by defeating the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. Cavaliers even the series at 1-1. The game would need to be decided in overtime for the second straight game. This is the first NBA Finals victory in Cleveland Cavaliers history.
Klay Thompson led the charge for the Warriors and led them from the get-go, scoring 20 points in the first half and finished the game with 34-points.
LeBron James had yet another monster game against the Warriors, getting a triple double, 39 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists in Game 2. Cavs center Timofey Mozgov stepped up offensively when they needed it the most, scoring 17 points.
The Cavs would be without Kyrie Irving for the rest of the Finals, he suffered a fractured knee cap in the Game 1 overtime loss. Irving underwent successful surgery on Saturday and his recovery time is 3-4 months.
Matthew Dellavedova would get the start in place of Irving, Dellavedova started two games against the Atlanta Hawks when Irving was out, he averaged 17-points in those two games. The Australian did not get the point total of a those two games but his defense helped keep Stephen Curry in check when guarding him, holding Curry to 0-points at the half. Dellavedova played great defense on Curry with under 5 seconds to go in overtime, if the shot fell, the Warriors would have taken the lead.
The current league MVP Stephen Curry scored 19 points on 5-of-23 shooting.
For seven of the eight quarters in the Finals, the game has been close at all times with multiple lead changes, in Game 2 neither team built a lead larger than 11-points.
The series now turns to Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland for the next two games. Game 3 will take place on Tuesday at 9:00 P.M. EST.
One dead after shooting on Cleveland's eastside
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland Police are investigating the death of a 28-year-old Cleveland man that occurred at 12503 Corlett Avenue in the alley on Sunday afternoon.
Cleveland Police officers arrived around 2:30 p.m. with EMS to help Lawrence A. Kennedy.
He had suffered multiple gun shot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner and Homicide Unit were notified.
So far no one has been arrested. Anyone with information related to this incident is being asked to contact the homicide unit at 216-623-5464.

March Madness to bring thousands of fans to Cleveland businesses
The NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Sweet 16 gets underway Thursday night.
Fans will pour into area bars and restaurants.
“We’re expecting Kentucky fans all day. We’ll be open until 2 a.m. in the morning so that everyone can come in and celebrate the win,” said Michael Grasso, general manager of Corner Alley.
“UK will be here in full force. Around 5:30, we will have the entire marching band. UK cheerleaders will be doing a pep rally here, as well,” added Grasso.
And down the street, Notre Dame fans will head to Flannery’s Pub.
“Notre Dame and Flannery’s Pub. It’s kind of a perfect marriage. Should be fun!” said Sean O’Donnell, general manager of Flannery’s.
The official West Virgina University party is at Zocalo on East Fourth.
No official plans yet from Wichita State.
“It’s kind of like Cavs opening day or when they went to the playoffs. Everybody just kind of goes downtown to join the party or opening day for the Tribe. It’s the same kind of feel,” said O’Donnell.
According to the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, the city stands to make $8 to $10 million dollars due to the Sweet 16.
“It’s the biggest we can go on the NCAA men’s side because the men’s Final Four would require a dome. So, until they cover over Brown’s stadium, we won’t be doing that anytime soon. But this is a great opportunity for us to shine on such a large scale,” said Meredith Scerba with the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission.

No arrests after 3 die in Warrensville Heights barber shop shooting
City officials in Warrensville Heights held a news conference Friday afternoon to discuss the city's latest rash of violence.
In fact, the past few days in both Warrensville Heights and Maple Heights have been deadly. First, a murder in Maple Heights about 10 days ago, then a triple murder at the Chalk Linez barber shop on Harvard, Thursday night. That shooting could be related to the one in Maple Heights.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the victims as Walter Lee Barfield, 23, William Gonzalez, 32, and Brandon White, 31. The men are described as friends, and may have known the shooter. Gonzalez was the owner.

During Friday's press conference, Police Chief Wesley Haynes said the department believes the shooting stemmed from a prior incident.
An intriguing part of the story is that Gonzalez may have known the victim from the bar shooting in Maple Heights last weekend. He is Orlando Stevens, and had a barber connection in that he was a student at Flawless Barber Academy near Shaker Heights.
Instagram shows several connections, as well as a strong connection to high profile athletes. Several Cleveland Cavaliers are pictured getting haircuts, and some of the pictures appear to have been taken at the Cavs practice facility.
The shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. Thursday and came to police in a 911 call.

CALLER: (screams) My husband just got shot. Someone just opened fire.
CALLER: Can y'all please hurry up?

Maple Heights Police and Special Agents from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) have been on scene at the bar, which is located at 5120 Warrensville Center Road all morning. The parking lot and the building have both been roped off as detectives search for answers.
Witnesses say that prior to the shooting an argument took place inside the bar between Stevens and another man. They add that that unidentified man left after the verbal altercation. A short time later Stevens was apparently shot outside the bar near a red vehicle believed to have belonged to him.
Stevens attended the Flawless Barber Academy where he had been a student since February 2014. He was already starting to make a name for himself as a talented up and coming barber. His clients and friends have taken to social media to express their disbelief and condolences.
Maple Heights Police have issued a picture of a person of interest. He is not listed as a suspect at this time.

The Jacka killed in Oakland shooting
Rapper The Jacka has died after he was gunned down in Oakland, California on Monday night (02Feb15).The 37-year-old musician, real name Dominic Newton, was shot by an unidentified gunman and transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No suspects had been identified as WENN went to press and a $20,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of the killer.
Tributes have flooded in from members of the hip-hop community including Nipsey Hussle and The Game, who wrote in a post on Twitter.com, "R.I.P. to my nigga The Jacka."

36-year-old man shot and killed on Harvard Ave.
The Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit is currently investigating the death of a 36-year-old man that occurred on Saturday, January, 17, 2015.
This incident occurred in a parking lot area in the 17400 block of Harvard Ave. around 11 p.m.

According to detectives, the victim was in the parking lot area with a group of men standing around a vehicle.
The suspect, who was in that group, produced a handgun and fired multiple shots at the victim, striking him once in the upper body.
The suspect fled on foot southbound on E.175.
Police and EMS responded and found the victim dead at the scene.
Officers searched the area for the gunman but were unable to locate him.
The Homicide Unit and Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office also responded to the scene.
The Medical Examiner will determine final cause of death and identify the victim.
