Nas Has A New Home: Harvard University


After seeing things like Young Guru and 9th Wonder moonlighting as teachers at universities, courses on 2Pac's lyrics, and Lil B speaking at NYU, seeing Harvard - albeit one of the whitest colleges in 'Murica - delve into hip hop culture and creating a fellowship for Nasir shouldn't be a shock or surprise to anybody at this point. Nonetheless, it's still a dope accomplishment.
When multi-platinum hip hop artist Nas was growing up in the housing projects in Queensbridge, New York, he probably wouldn’t have guessed Harvard would ask to create a hiphop fellowship in his name 30 years later. But it’s happening. So how do you design a home for hip hop at Harvard? We ventured to find out.
